CIP

in CIP  last week we made a DLO about recycling stationery so we can send it to the company

so they can recycle  them it is  stationery that is not working for every  kg we send them in we get $2 but to send the stationery  the company is called terra cycle

this is the DLO we did last week

1 how are we going spread our message to the community by making a poster or a DLO and put it on the school tv
who do  you think will get involved
2 Hornby High School Hornby Primary School
how many kgs do you predict
3  we will collect  15 kg
what should we do with the donation money we receive from terra cycle

this is my experiment I did

Title

My fog experiment

Purpose

We put it up on the window in the sun to see if it will make fog when the sun heats up the water

Materials

1x zip lock bag
1x vivid
2xBlue DIY
½ water

experiment two water blue DIY baking soda

Steps

Get a zip lock bag
Then get a vivid
Write your group's names
Draw the picture  on the zip lock bag of what is going to happen in the experiment
We put the water in a zip lock bag
Then the teacher put the blue DIY in the zip lock bag
Then we seal it up and put it against the window
We used double-sided  tape to get it to stay
We are going to test it in two weeks

Experiment two we put the water in the bag and add the DIY and the baking soda

Conclusion

Experiment One:
I think the outcome of this experiment will be...
Experiment two;
What actually happened

Crazy Crystals

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals
Definition of solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.

What crystals worked out best and why?:

Conclusion:

________________________________________________________________________

After watching the videos as a class, explain how the following crystals are formed:

Type
Explanation
Salt

Sea salt is produced through evaporation of ocean water or water from saltwater lakes, usually with little processing. Depending on the water source, this leaves behind certain trace minerals and elements. The minerals add flavor and color to sea salt, which also comes in a variety of coarseness levels.
Sugar

Refined sugar is made from raw sugar that has undergone a refining process to remove the molasses. Raw sugar is sucrose which is extracted from sugarcane or sugar beet. ... The sugar syrup is concentrated by boiling and then cooled and seeded with sugar crystals, causing the sugar to crystallize out.

Snowflakes
snowflake begins to form when an extremely cold water droplet freezes onto a pollen or dust particle in the sky. This creates an ice crystal. As the ice crystal falls to the ground, water vapor freezes onto the primary crystal, building new crystals – the six arms of the snowflake.
