Dilution and Filtration

Last week in science we mixed copper nitrate (blue) with sodium hydroxide (clear) to make a bright blue precipitate.

1) The first test tube had the most concentrated sample of copper nitrate

2) When you added water to the solution you diluted it

3) The first solution is stronger as it formed the most precipitate (solid)

Medieval Europe

The condemned were locked inside the device, and a fire was set under it, heating the metal until the person inside was roasted to death. Some modern scholars question if the brazen bull ever really existed, attributing reports of the invention to early propaganda. the head of the bull was designed with a system of tubes and stops so that the prisoner's scream was converted into sounds like the bellowing of an infuriated.
